First stop on your Champagne tour is Reims. Here you will have time for a short visit of the cathedral, a gothic masterpiece where the Kings of France came to be crowned. Then you will visit a small wine-grower near Epernay, at Mutigny. Depending on the season, you will see the grapes’ press, winery, blending, riddling, and disgorging. Then top it off with a glass of the vineyard’s champagne.
You will then be driven to Epernay, in order to have lunch in a restaurant in the centre of the town, with a traditional menu from the Champagne region.
The afternoon begins at Epernay with a visit of the world famous Mercier's* champagne house where an expert explains the method of Champagne making from grape picking to bottling. This will be followed by a tasting session where you will be able to taste one glass of Champagne. After this you will return to Paris following a part of the Marne River.
*During the month of January the Mercier cellars will be replaced with The Mumm Cellars.
This tour is on request, so once we receive your chosen dates and times, we will check availability and then call you in order to confirm the booking and take payment. You will then be sent a voucher by email with your tour reservation number.
