Hello Paris photo competition. Win a weekend for two in Paris! (Competition now closed)

How about two nights in the City of Light to break up the long British winter? Enter the Hello Paris Photo Competition and win two nights in a 3 star hotel in Paris for two people at one of Les Relais de Paris seven hotels in the centre of Paris (before the end of March 2011). You will also win two tickets for a one-hour cruise on Bateaux Parisiens, two 90-minute sightseeing tour tickets by all-weather open-top bus and two, two-day Paris Visite Travel Cards for free travel around the centre of Paris on trains and buses during your stay.

What you need to do

Simply find your best pictures of Paris and upload one of them to one of the groups below on Flickr. They can be photos taken last week, or many years ago. As long they belong to you and they are appropriate for the group, you have a chance to win!

1. Paris Metro Signs
Hello Paris is the UK distributor of RATP (the Paris Transport Authority) tickets. To celebrate our long association with RATP we have created a Flickr group called Paris Metro signs. This is a collection of photographs containing the name signs of Paris Metro and RER stations in Paris. The pictures we are looking for are either beautiful, unusual, artistic or comical images that reflect the atmosphere of the transport network which is so much a part of daily life in one of the world’s most important cities. 2. Romantic Sojourn in Paris
What is the indefinable atmosphere of Paris, that je ne sais quoi, that links Paris and romance in our minds? Show us the picture which best illustrates your most romantic trip to Paris and you'll have a chance to win. 3. Brits en Paris
The British have loved Paris for centuries but they don't always go there for romantic reasons. So what do the Brits get up when they go to Paris? We wouldn't dare to guess beyond a rugby match, a business trip, a hen night perhaps, or a shopping expedition? So go on, surprise us. We can't wait to see the results! Look at Brits en Paris here.

How to enter

Photos for the competition are being stored on Flickr, a free photo storage and sharing site owned by Yahoo. You can submit photos by following these steps:

1. Go to www.flickr.com. If you don't already have a flickr account, click on "create your account". If you already have a Yahoo account enter your Yahoo! ID and password. If you don't have a Yahoo account click on "Create new account".
2. Upload your photo to your Flickr account. Give it a title and a description (please add further details to the description such as the date it was taken, your name, and the words "Hello Paris Photo Competition 2011" AND add the tag: helloparisphotos to the photo.
4. Search for the group (one of the three above) you want to add the picture to, click "add photos" and select the photo you want to add to your prefered group. Alternatively, click on the photo you want to add to a group, look for "Actions" at the top of the picture and select "Add to a group", then search for the right group and you're finished!
5. Entries must be licenced under "Attribution Creative Commons" licence in Flickr. This can easily be added under "Additional Information" or "Owner Settings" next to each photograph. By submitting your photos in this way you are giving Hello Paris (and the public) permission to use your photo for publication and/or promotional work (you will be acknowledged as the photographer).

6. Email your photo to photos and we’ll add it to Flickr for you. Please give us your name and email address, and the name of the group you would like to add it to and any further useful details like the date is was taken which we will add to the photo description. Please note that when you email the photo to Hello Paris we will add it to our own Flickr account and you will give up any image rights to the photo.

7. The winner will be notified via their Flickr account or directly via email depending on how they submitted their photo.

Please note: entries are restricted to one image per person

Once you’ve opened a Flickr account, you can add photos via your mobile and share them on your blog. You can also tag them to associate descriptive words with them. There’s a full FAQ here to help you.

Terms and conditions

1. Entries must be received by 15th January 2011.
2. The winners will be selected within 5 days of the closing date and will be notified immediately. The winners are required to contact Hello Paris to confirm acceptance of their prize within 10 days of notification. In the event of non-acceptance within the specified period, or if the person is not contactable, Hello Paris reserves the right to reallocate the prize awarded to the next randomly drawn valid entry.
3. By entering the competition, the winner consents to his/her name and county and the winning photo to be used for publicity purposes by Hello Paris in printed and/or online formats.
4. No purchase is necessary. Only one entry per person allowed. Only one picture person allowed.
5. Entries to be submitted by uploading photos to one of Hello Paris’s Flickr groups or emailing photos to Hello Paris. Entries which do not follow the instructions given above in "How to enter" may be disallowed. Hello Paris reserves the right to remove inappropriate images from any of our Flickr Groups.
6. By submitting photos to Hello Paris by email for inclusion in our own Flickr account entrants consent to transferring image rights to Hello Paris and warrant that the image was taken by them and does not belong to any third party.
7. The prize draw is open to all residents of England, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man and Channel Islands excluding employees of Hello Paris and their immediate families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.
8. The prize consists of a hotel booking for one double or twin room for 2 people for 2 nights at one of Les Relais de Paris hotels as seen on their web site www.lesrelaisdeparis.fr. The reservation must be made for a date before 31st March 2011 and not on or between either of the following dates - 21st to 25th January 2011 inclusive and 7th to 10th February inclusive. Reservations will only be accepted subject to the availability of rooms. Neither Hello Paris Ltd nor Hotel Groupe Les Relais de Paris are liable to provide a room if none is available on the date requested. The prize also consists of two Paris Visite Travel cards for 2-days valid for zones 1-3 of the Paris transport network, two tickets on the top deck of the open-top sightseeing tour by Foxity and two tickets on the one-hour cruise by Bateaux Parisiens. Transport to and from Paris is not included on the prize. Hello Paris can provide competitive rates on Eurostar if the winner would like us to arrange transport.
9. The prizes are non-transferable.
10. There will be no cash alternative.
11. Open to adults aged 18+.
12. It is a condition of entry that the terms and conditions of the prize draw are accepted as final and that entrants agree to abide by the rules. No correspondence will be entered into.
14. Hello Paris will not accept responsibility for loss of entries through technical fault, postal/transmission delays or incomplete, illegible or other damaged entries. Proof of entry is not automatically proof of receipt.
15. In the event of unforeseen circumstances Hello Paris reserves the right to offer alternative prizes of equal or greater value.
16. English law applies.
