If you buy your Louvre tickets in advance you will avoid the long queues which regularly form to gain admission.

The ticket gives you priority access via the Passage Richelieu or the Galerie du Carrousel. It is valid for all permanent collections but not for the temporary exhibitions, for which you can purchase tickets when you are there. Your Louvre ticket has no expiry date so you can use it on whatever day you like and it is valid all day. Please be aware that the Louvre is closed on Tuesdays.

Please note that National Museums are free of charge to all EU citizens under the age of 26. To claim their free entry and get their Louvre tickets they need to queue up at each museum and show their passport at the ticket desk. They will not be able to use any fast track facilities. In addition, primary and secondary school teachers can get in for free if they can show proof of their occupation (the equivalent of a French Carte Pass Education)

Please be aware that the Louvre is closed on Tuesday.
