This masterclass has been designed for anyone with an interest in wine who wants to know a bit more about it, especially if you find French wines a bit perplexing! We often know the grapes we like, but French wines tend to be blended from various grape varieties, and these will all depend on the different regions of France as to the types and quantities of the blends. This is the place to learn all about it. Impress your friends when you are home with the knowledge you pick up in this masterclass.
The tasting starts at 17.00 in a 17th-century wine cellar right near the Louvre. You will try six different wines, coming from 6 different regions of France. From Champagne to Bordeaux, from Sancerre to the Rhone…
With a unique and refreshing approach, our sommelier will take you through a variety of themes to build up your wine knowledge. He will teach you how Champagne is made and how to taste wine properly. We’ll go together through the main wine regions of France – the grapes they grow, the style of wine they make. Your sommelier will teach you how to read a French wine label. He will clarify concepts like terroir or appellation…
Our masterclass is both informative and fun. In just two hours, you will learn a lot and will taste good French wines. Then at 19.00 or so, we’ll let you go – vaguely tipsy maybe - for the rest of your Parisian evening!
All the wines you will taste are available for sale (plus many more too – just ask your sommelier).
