Why waste precious holiday time queuing up at the stressful ticket booths and machines of the Paris Metro or RER when you could saunter off the Eurostar at Gare du Nord, and calmly stroll on straight through the barriers and onto the next awaiting RER or metro train? The Paris Visite Travel Card is a public transport pass that gives you unlimited travel on the Paris Metro, RER, Paris buses and trams, and can be bought for 1, 2, 3 or 5 consecutive calendar days (i.e. if you activate your travelcard at 17.00 on your first day, this will count as day 1 of your travelcard). The card is not dated and only becomes active from the date you first use it. When you purchase it you will also receive a Paris Metro/RER and street map with discount coupons for various attractions around Paris
Zones 1-3 cover the majority of the main Paris sights and attractions including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Champs Elysees, Montmartre and the Sacre coeur, as well as the Gare du Nord, the Eurostar arrival station. This ticket is therefore ideal for anyone arriving by Eurostar, staying near the center and wishing to visit the main tourist sights.
The Zones 1-5 Travel cards cover all of the above, but also the Airports (Charles de Gaulle Airport, and Orly Airport), the Palace of Versailles (in zone 4) and Disneyland (Zone 5). It also covers most of the suburbs of Paris, so this can be handy if you are staying further from the center and want to travel in every day.
